GRANITE STREET TRAINING CLASS REGISTRATION AND ATTENDANCE POLICY
It is the mission of Granite Street Training (GST) to provide our students with quality real estate and other professional training. Offering you the student the opportunity to enhance your professional growth through multiple class offerings. In order to do so and to meet the requirements of the National Association of REALTORS® and the Virginia Real Estate Board, GST requires our students to follow certain rules and procedures.
REGISTRATION: In order to attend most classes, students must register, and if there is a cost, pay, ahead of time. If a student has not registered (and paid if there is a cost) beforehand, a student may request admittance up to 10 minutes after class begins as determined by the instructor. Payment for the class(es) may be made later (see below).
PAYMENT: All fees must be prepaid. However, at the discretion of the instructor a student may attend an initial portion of the class and pay at either a morning break or over lunch. If the student does not do so, they may not remain in class, and will not receive any CE/PLE credit or be recommended for the designation or certification.
ATTENDANCE POLICY: Class will begin promptly at the time noted. Students may not miss more than 15 minutes per module. Students missing more than 15 minutes of class will be automatically disqualified from receiving class CE/PL credit. Those students who have paid but have missed more than the allotted 15 minutes are welcome to sit in but will not receive CE/PL credit for that module. Moreover, if a student is disqualified because they are late or misses more than 15 minutes, no refund will be granted. Additionally, it is up to the instructor if a student becomes unruly or combative as to whether they can receive credit, stay or both.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY: Cancellation requests (written or phoned) will be accepted through 4:30 pm three (3) business days preceding each class. All paid tuition will not be refunded, however students will automatically be moved to the new class date and notified via email.
RESCHEDULING OF CLASSES: If a class, for any reason, has to be rescheduled, students will automatically be moved to the new class date and notified via email. If the student cannot attend, they must notify GST in advance and the student will be registered for the next class. If that class is not yet scheduled, they may attend a similar class using the original fee.
CLASSROOM RESTRICTIONS: No tape recorders or recording devices are permitted in the classroom. All phones need to be put on silent. This also means that you cannot record virtual classes.
VIRTUAL/ONLINE POLICY: When registering for a virtual training class, a zoom link and course materials link will be sent by email in the registration confirmation and in the 48-hour registration reminder. Students agree that they will comply with GST’s virtual training policy when registering for a class.
Camera must be on/stay on, and student visible, in order to qualify for class credit. If camera is not on, and you are not visible, you cannot receive class credit. (you may turn their camera off briefly to go to let the pup(s) out, grab coffee , water etc.- no more than 15 minutes during a class. See also Attendance Policy). Driving during a virtual class is prohibited. If a student is observed driving, they will be automatically removed from the class, and will not be allowed reentry, no refunds will be given. Please make sure you are attending the class from a “professional” setting and are dressed appropriately. This determination is at the sole discretion of the instructor.
Students should plan to enter the training 5-10 minutes before the slated class start time to ensure a smooth entry. Prior to the class, students will be placed in a “waiting room” until the class begins, you will not be muted upon class entry. It is possible because of “life” that there may be a short delay in connecting, but you will not be permitted entry if more than 10 minutes late to the start of class and you will be disqualified from receiving CE/PLE credit if you leave the class earlier that you are dismissed.
Classes will routinely be conducted using Zoom. You are responsible for the performance of your own technology including audio volume, video clarity, and a reliable internet connection. It is best to test your internet video (camera) and audio connections before class by joining a test meeting at https://zoom.us/test. If you get disconnected for any reason while class is in session, stay calm, follow the same protocol as joining to get back into the class as soon as possible. We ask that you keep your microphone muted unless your instructor or meeting host says otherwise. If you do experience technical issues (camera or audio not working only – not Zoom login) that you can’t quickly resolve, please contact Mark at 703-441-7993.
If you have an in-class question, use the “raise hand” button, or just raise your hand and unmute your own mic to speak. Please feel free to print your course materials or download and save them on your device with the course materials link that is provided. Audio/Video: • Students Please visit zoom.com to obtain specifications for your computer and internet. • You MUST connect with a device that has a video/audio connection. You MUST be visible on screen to meet Virginia REB requirements for continuing education credit for the entirety of the class. Failure to be visible may result in disqualification and removal from the class. All students are required to fully participate and engage in class discussions and polls. This also means that you must be focused on class and not be engaged in other activities to includes other computer, business or personal tasks.
DISABILITIES: In our commitment to the Americans with Disabilities Act, we would like to know if you have any disabilities which require special accommodations, including the provision of auxiliary aids and services. If so, please contact GST as soon as possible to expedite any special arrangements.
